I’m Mary-Lou Losee, proud owner of M. Losee & Associates.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Before beginning my current venture, I spent many years working as an auditor with the Provincial Government. I always enjoyed educating clients more than assessing them and liked exploring novel ways of reducing costs and providing them with higher income tax refunds. With the ten years of experience I gained in my previous workplace, I started my own venture a decade ago to cater to the accounting and taxation needs of clients.

Overall, I have been dealing with accounting for more than two decades, but I noticed that nothing really stays the same. Clients today want everything on the go, they are looking for quick and easy access to monthly reporting which online platforms like ‘QuickBooks Online Accounting’ can provide. It helps clients to update their invoices and work at their own pace, allowing their accountant to review, input or make changes on an ongoing basis.

Although these software programs are run mainly by clients themselves, there are times where they need help setting them up. Once the basics are in place, they would be in a better position to feed the rest of the information into the system. Assisting my clients with the initial set up of their books or payroll, and the satisfaction of knowing we are reducing their stress is the most enjoyable part of what I do.

Our business philosophy is to be proactive, not only with accounting and bookkeeping but also personal and corporate taxes, so we continue to educate our staff to be current and informed.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart is always being accessible to our clients when they need us the most. My staff is also knowledgeable, committed, timely, trustworthy and has high integrity. I attribute my success to staying informed, being honest and providing clients with answers to their questions. Seeing our clients satisfied with the service we provide gives us immense satisfaction.

When I am not at work, I take various courses to educate myself on the Canadian and US Income tax system. I also enjoy spending a lot of time caring for our four-legged friends.
